LION’S MANE – Hericium erinaceus

Medicinal fungus belonging to the basid fungi (Basidomycota) of the order of the lovebirds (Russulales) and the family of the sophorae family (Hericiaceae). It is mainly found in deciduous forests, where it grows on the lower parts of the trunk of older trees, such as oak, beech, apple and walnut trees. It occurs naturally and is commonly cultivated in Asian countries. Outside these areas, it is not popular, and in many regions it is under protection.

The lion’s mane is classified as a plant with nootropic properties. As a result, it works pro-cognitive. It improves the flow of information between neurons and participates in the creation of new synaptic connections. Due to its ability to accelerate the regeneration of the gastric mucosa, it is widely used in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. It also acts as a stimulant of the immune system – it regulates the course of the immune response.

IMPORTANT: the extracts are water soluble and should not be compared with dry powders. Extracts show 5-10 times stronger action than powdered mushrooms. Moreover, powdered mycelium is much cheaper to produce, it is not soluble in water and does not produce the desired effect when combined with coffee. In turn, double extraction provides the maximum health benefits that we can get in this case.
